Multi-billion-dollar companies get so caught up in innovation that they focus more on what they could do than what they should do. Sure, the products are usually impressive from a technological standpoint, but oftentimes, they’re way worse to use. One example that comes to mind is Windows Vista—the fresh-looking operating system from 2007 that people absolutely hated to work with. Another more recent example is the four-cylinder plug-in hybrid Mercedes-AMG models that used to run twin-turbo V8s.

My taste in cars and, especially, car content is shaped by Larry Chen. That doesn’t make me special, as I’m one of (actually) millions who were introduced to his work during those formative teenage years of life. Growing up in the Missouri Ozarks, I’d never seen the likes of what he captured through his Canon, and even now, after nearly a decade in automotive media, I’m still floored. He’s so good he could write a book about it, and wouldn’t you know it, he has.

I had to check, but the Cadillac Celestiq show car was revealed in July 2022. That means we’ve been hearing about the new “Standard of the World” from GM’s luxury brand for the last three years—or whereabouts. Much has been written about it, like how it has a wheelbase longer than 10 feet, a roof that’s actually the largest piece of automotive glass in the world, and a starting price of roughly $340,000. But now, I’m writing about how the first Celestiq road car has been delivered to a customer.

I don’t know of a car that’s more universally loved than the Lexus LC500. It’s drop-dead gorgeous, it drives great, and its 5.0-liter V8 sounds even better. Sure, it’s kind of old at this point, but that doesn’t mean it needs to die. Japanese outlet Creative Trend reports that’s about to happen, though, and as a praying man, I’m asking that it might stick around a while longer. Creative Trend claims that the LC500 will bow out after the 2026 model year, joining the similarly V8-powered IS500.

We’ve seen nearly every angle of the next-gen Jeep Cherokee by now, but we still don’t have any solid stats or specs. It’s already confirmed that the model will return later this year as a hybrid, and judging by the small batch of photos Jeep has released, it’ll be pretty boxy. That’s unmistakably a call back to simpler times, when the XJ Cherokee revolutionized SUVs—and no, I don’t think I’m exaggerating. But as Jeep’s latest teaser for the new model shows, it’s going to be quite a bit bigger.

RT @brheiny: My favorite passage from any theological work, from Herman Bavinck’s Common Grace. I’ve thought about these two paragraphs eve…

I wanna hear more about this 👀

This hits. Especially when it says, “Freedom isn’t sinlessness.” Wow!

Impressed by the organization of @pastorjgkell’s booklet on fighting sin and temptation. Alliteration is sometimes forced, but not here. This is brilliant. https://t.co/QDaoxKE7O1
