According to doge.gov, DOGE cut grants to Alabama A&M, Auburn University, the University of Alabama and Tuskegee University last week. The Office of Information Technology is responding to a "cybersecurity event" over the weekend that is affecting certain State systems, according to a spokesperson for Governor Kay Ivey. According to a news release from Ivey’s office, immediate steps have been taken to contain the situation while working with a leading third-party cybersecurity firm to investigate, secure and restore impacted services. The cyberattack was first detected on Friday evening. The cause is still being investigated.
