It was a clean drive from the Aussie, who kept his cool in the heat of the Bahraini desert, whilst those behind him duelled under the lights. Russell crossed the line in second place, ahead Lando Norris, who endured a chaotic Bahrain Grand Prix.

    Proposals for the new South African Grand Prix in Cape Town seem to have taken a step forward, with the release of new images detailing the proposed track layout. Released by Motorsport.com, the layout centres around the DHL Stadium in the city, the iconic stadium built for the 2010 World Cup hosted in the country. The street circuit is currently mapped at 5.7km long, featuring 25 corners with an even mix of high, medium and low speed corners.

    Max Verstappen is just one point off the lead of the World Drivers’ Championship after a dominant performance at the Japanese Grand Prix. After starting from pole, Verstappen remained unmoved throughout, depute the best efforts of the two McLaren drivers to pass the Dutchman. The two McLaren’s completed the podium spots, with Leclerc and Russell also in the top five.

    Max Verstappen will start the Japanese Grand Prix from pole position after a stunning new lap record put the Dutchman at the front. Verstappen came out of nowhere to pip both McLarens by under half a tenth and take pole position ahead of Lando Norris (P2), and Oscar Piastri (P3). The Dutchman admitted he was shocked by the result, but said it was incredibly rewarding to take pole at the famous Suzuka circuit.
