Police have arrested a teenager on suspicion of sending online abuse to Arsenal forward Kai Havertz 's pregnant wife. Hertfordshire Police said on Tuesday that "a 17-year-old-boy from St Albans has been arrested on suspicion of malicious communications". The boy, whose identity is protected by law as a minor, has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

USMNT midfielder Lennard Maloney has joined Mainz from Bundesliga rivals Heidenheim. Maloney, 25, has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal at the club through to the summer of 2028. The defensive midfielder spent two-and-a-half seasons at Heidenheim and was part of the side that won promotion to the top flight of German football at the end of the 2022-23 campaign. Maloney represented Germany at youth level before switching allegiances to the United States in 2018.

Angel City FC has completed the signing of defender Alanna Kennedy from Manchester City. Kennedy, who turned 30 on Tuesday, has joined the NWSL side on a one-year contract for 2025 with the option of an additional 12 months. The Australian defender joined City from Tottenham Hotspur in 2021 and made 64 appearances for the club. "I am really excited to join Angel City and return to the NWSL, " said Kennedy, who has 131 caps for Australia.

(RED) will replace current sponsor Snapdragon - a subsidiary of Qualcomm - on the front of United's home shirts for the penultimate game of the campaign on May 10. The U.S.-based charity works with famous brands to raise funds for those affected by AIDS and other global health pandemics. The deal, which came into affect at the start of this term, entitles the company to nominate a charitable organisation of their choosing to replace Snapdragon for one match per season.
