ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Ahead of this weekend’s Walkoff Wood Bat High School Baseball Tournament, both the Benton Cardinals and Phil Welch Stadium got in some early action as Benton took on city rival Bishop LeBlond. What started as a tight game through three innings quickly turned into a rout, as the Cardinals exploded with big innings in the fourth and sixth to roll to a 16-4 win, getting back in the win column and restoring momentum at just the right time.

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Missouri Western softball continued its late-season surge Wednesday, sweeping Missouri S&T in a doubleheader at the Spring Sports Complex with a 2-0 win in Game 1 and a thrilling 6-5 extra-inning victory in Game 2. Too many costly mistakes from Jokic, but the real story is Kawhi. Never misses a beat. Shows up when shots need to be made. I wouldn’t worry too much if Denver, I expect Jokic to have a huge Game 3.
