By Ryan VinsonWhen Kirkwood boys basketball left Springfield Tuesday night, they left with a 68-64 loss to a Yellow Jackets team that had just won only its sixth game all season. Prior to its 64-58 win against Clarksville on Jan. 14, Springfield had lost 12 consecutive games and, on paper, looked like an easy win for Kirkwood. The Yellow Jackets hosted the Cobras after back-to-back wins over Clarksville and Northeast.

By Ryan VinsonWest Creek’s boys wrestling team pummeled its way to District 14 and Region 7 titles Friday night at Kirkwood High, dismissing Northeast and Kenwood by a combined score of 141-13 for the district title. Their District 14 title was their third, joining last season and the 2015 season. The Coyotes then handled Kirkwood 54-21 to win the program’s first region championship.
