After back-to-back days with gusty NE & cool temps, highs today were in the low to mid 70s away from Lake Michigan. Another cold front will move through overnight with a slight chance of a shower or storm. Gusty northeast winds will cool temperatures back down again on Saturday. Mother's Day will be beautiful. Expect sunny skies and temperatures in the mid to upper 70s (away from the lake). Mother's Day weekend is the unofficial kickoff to the growing season.

Tonight will be the coldest night in three weeks. A widespread frost or freeze is expected, and a Frost Advisory has been issued for most of the NBC 26 viewing area. After back-to-back days with gusty northeast winds, the winds will switch to the southwest on Friday, and temperatures will warm back up. Highs will be in the low to mid 70s away from Lake Michigan. Another cold front will move through tomorrow night with a slight chance of a shower or storm.

High pressure will build into the area overnight & control our weather tomorrow. A lot of sunshine is on the way for Tuesday & much warmer temperatures. Highs, away from the lake, will be in the mid-upper 70s. A cold front will drop south from Canada tomorrow night. Behind it, gusty NE winds and much cooler 50s for Wednesday. NE winds will keep it cooler than normal on Thursday as well. Temps will rise to around 70 on Friday as winds briefly turn to the SW ahead of a cold front.

Posted Today was the wettest May 1st in 52 years!! Many spots received 0.50-1.00" of rain. With clouds, rain, and NE winds, temperatures were about 15 degrees below normal. Highs should have been in the 60s, but we had 40s. More of the same can be expected on Friday. As today's weather-maker moves away from Wisconsin, another system will move in. Clouds, showers & cool temps are on the way for May 2. High pressure builds in for the weekend. We will see lots of sunshine & warmer temperatures.
