MG has announced that it will showcase two new concepts at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. The firm has teased us with one image, which is the Cyberster Black and features a Deep Black exterior paint finish, a black interior and lots of chrome accents. BYD and Octopus Energy have announced the UK’s first vehicle-to-grid (V2G) bundle. The ‘Power Back Bundle’ is a collaboration between Chinese vehicle manufacturer, BYD, and Octopus Energy, the UK’s largest energy supplier. Vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology turns an EV into a battery on wheels. An electric vehicle can draw power from the electricity grid, but some can also send power back to it at peak times to reduce the need to turn on fossil fuelled power plants.

Toyota has announced that the Land Cruiser will gain a mild-hybrid powertrain along with a Commercial variant. Under the bonnet, Toyota’s rough and ready off-roader will use the same 2.8-litre turbocharged diesel unit found in the current car, but it will have the added benefit of featuring a 48-volt lithium-ion hybrid battery. However, Toyota has not revealed at this stage the vehicle’s power and performance figures.
