A pair of familiar faces prevailed as the 2024 National Motorsports Press Association Most Popular Driver Award winners as Chase Elliott earned the honor in the NASCAR Cup Series and Justin Allgaier won in the Xfinity Series. Rajah Caruth earned his first Most Popular Driver Award in the Craftsman Truck Series. The 28-year-old Elliott has won the award for a seventh consecutive season, while Allgaier earned the Xfinity honor for the fifth time in the last six years.

In the 10 years of the NASCAR playoff elimination format, one Cup Series organization has seemingly cracked the code on how to hoist the Bill France Cup at the end of each season. With Joey Logano’s third championship in 2024, Team Penske has now won three consecutive titles and are titleholders in four of the last seven seasons. Ryan Blaney was the man to knock off a potential Logano dynasty in 2023 as the No. 12 driver grabbed his first championship.

Welcome to the club, Joey Logano. The Team Penske driver won his third NASCAR Cup Series Championship on Sunday at Phoenix Raceway, becoming the 10th driver to accomplish the feat after fending off fellow Championship 4 contenders Ryan Blaney, William Byron and Tyler Reddick for the title. Logano, 34, is now the only active driver to win three series titles and is the first to win a third championship since Tony Stewart did so in 2011 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

MARTINSVILLE, Va. – 2.9 seconds. This was the gap differential Ryan Blaney had to leader Kyle Larson as the No. 12 Team Penske driver passed William Byron for third with 42 laps to go. Forty-two circuits may seem like a long time but at Martinsville Speedway Sunday evening, it took 15 minutes to get to Lap 500.
