GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Friday, May 23, at 6:30 p.m. was the final sign-off of Bill Jartz’s 40-year career at WBAY Action 2 News. He and Cami Rapson have been anchoring together for 27 years, and in that time, they’ve come to be the best of friends, sharing all sorts of fun and important moments on-air and in the newsroom. As a kid from Clintonville, Bill grew up watching Action 2 News, and he’s never forgotten his roots.

Sitting in this anchor seat as he has for nearly 27 years, you get a complete view of the local and national news that affects people’s lives. They affect our lives too, and there have been moments, both on and off camera, that made Bill pause. That includes one very important phone call and one night in the fall of 2000 for the pivotal Lambeau Field vote on the 1/2 cent sales tax for Brown County.

It changed in 2023, when NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced those magic words: “With the first pick in the 2025 NFL draft, the NFL selects Green Bay, Wisconsin.”Now it’s time for the payoff.
