Johnson Matthey shares have jumped more than 10 per cent after a US investor doubled its stake in the chemicals giant, renewing speculation of a possible foreign takeover. Standard Latitude Master Fund, the investment arm of New-York based conglomerate Standard Industries, increased its stake to 10.1 per cent, having built a 5.2 per cent stake in April last year. The US fund is now the company's biggest shareholder, according to LSEG data.
