    Wang Yilin, former chairman of the China National Petroleum Corporation, was sentenced to 13 years in prison for accepting bribes worth more than 35.01 million yuan ($4.86 million), a court in Inner Mongolia autonomous region announced on Tuesday.     China has essentially completed its legal framework for handling foreign-related matters, with more than 50 relevant laws enacted by the end of last year, according to a recent report. The report, introduced by the Institute of International Law under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said that as of Dec. 25, China had 305 effective laws, including 54 specifically designed to address foreign affairs. More than 150 others contain provisions involving foreign-related matters.

    China's top procuratorate announced on Friday that it had approved the arrest of Zhao Jinyun, former vice-governor of Gansu province, on suspicion of bribery. The Supreme People's Procuratorate released the announcement on its website, adding that the case is still under further investigation. Public information shows that Zhao, 59, a native of Gansu, joined the Jiusan Society in 1999, and had worked in her home province before she was placed under the supervisory investigation in October.

    Gou Zhongwen, a former senior political adviser and also ex-head of the General Administration of Sport of China, has been prosecuted for suspected bribery and abuse of power, China's top procuratorate said on Wednesday. Prosecutors in Yancheng, Jiangsu province, have recently filed the prosecution with the Yancheng Intermediate People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuratorate added in a statement.
