    A man in his 20s has died in a hit-and-run in Balbriggan in north Dublin. The man, who was a pedestrian, was hit by a car on Railway Street. Gardaí say the car failed to remain at the scene. Emergency services were called to scene of the serious collision shortly after 9 o'clock on Monday night. The man was treated at the scene by paramedics, however, he was pronounced dead a short time later. The scene remained sealed off on Tuesday morning and local traffic diversions are in place.

    Two new reports show house prices are rising at the fastest rate in the past 10 years. The latest figures, from Daft.ie, show asking prices are up 12% in the past year to an average of €357,851 between April and June this year.
