A man in his 30s has died following a stabbing in Co Cork. Gardaí and emergency services were called to the incident after a row reportedly broke out between two men at a pub on North Main Street in Youghal at around 9.50pm on Monday night. A man in his 30s was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. He was pronounced dead a short time later. Another man, aged in his 20s, has been arrested in connection with the fatal assault.

Rory McIlroy has won golf's career grand slam after a playoff win at the Masters in Augusta. The 35-year-old has made history becoming the first man from the island of Ireland to wear the famous green jacket. He's just the sixth player of all-time to complete the sport's Grand Slam with success in all four major tournaments. One in ten Irish pets have their own social media profile. A survey to mark National Pet Day, shows 12% of pet owners buy clothes and accessories for their pets to wear. One third say their pet is their 'best friend', while one in four say they tell their pet things they can't share with anyone else. Nine in ten say they see their pet as a member of the family, while half say it's their 'fur baby'. Almost two thirds spend five or more hours a week walking and exercising their dog.

Almost half of teachers say they expect to leave the profession permanently due to burnout and work-related stress. A study carried out by Dublin City University (DCU) found poor mental health is becoming a significant issue for teachers, with 42% saying burnout could drive them to leave the teaching profession permanently. 85% of teachers say they're suffering moderate to high levels of work-related burnout, while 86% are experiencing personal burnout.
