TOPICS:WeatherForecastSummerTemperaturesPrecipitationEl NinoLa NinaTornadoesWhen we put together our seasonal forecasts, we generally look at 2 data sets. The first is our local weather history, what’s happened in our past. The second is changes in global circulation patterns. By this I mean El Nino and La Nina, which are fluctuations in the ocean water temperature in the Pacific near South America. Warmer than normal temps here is called El Nino, Cooler than normal is called La Nina.

An Excessive Heat Watch has been issued for the entirety of our area for Tuesday. Good Monday morning! We are in for some extreme heat for the start of this week. Morning temperatures start out already warm and in the 70s. Highs Monday afternoon will be in the lower to middle 90s. Because of the humidity, feel-like temps will be between 95-100 degrees this afternoon. There is a slight chance of a shower but rain chances remain quite low today. Tonight skies will be partly cloudy to clear.

Our team of meteorologists have been going through climate data for weeks now to put this winter forecast together. We look at 2 main things, what has happened in the past and global changes that could influence our weather. This year we had a typical spring, we had a slightly warmer than normal summer but with some drought conditions and we had a dry and warm September with a warm and wet October. We take the data from this year and then compared it to years in the past.

Foggy, humid morning! Plan on a few extra minutes on the drive. Temps in the 60s with high humidity feels pretty sticky. Sun will be out middle part of the day with a few showers possible this afternoon. https://t.co/7WwN166a90
