    Ebbw Vale’s driving maul once again proved unstoppable as they powered to a 39-11 victory at Carmarthen Quins. The Steelmen scored five second half tries, including a hat-trick off the bench for replacement hooker Ieuan Morris, to secure six more points in Super Rygbi Cymru. The only try of the first half, which went unconverted, was scored by Quins left wing Louis Rees.

    Wing Tom Bowen was on the treble trail once again as Cardiff RFC returned to the top of Super Rygbi Cymru by giving Swansea six of the best in their 38-29 victory at St Helen’s. Wales U18 international Bowen bagged himself another hat-trick to go alongside the one he got at RGC on the opening weekend to inspire the Blue and Blacks – who had to come from behind in both halves. Bowen is impressing people behind the scenes and is tipped for a very bright future.

Both had to recover from falling behind early on, with the Black and Ambers eventually seeing off a spirited Bridgend 41-22, while Ebbw ran in five tries in 34-22 defeat of Aberavon at Eugene Cross Park to secure five points.

    Wattstown bagged the Rhondda derby bragging rights as they defeated 14-man Penygraig to lift the Worthington’s Mid District Division Three Cup at Sardis Road. Penygraig had won both league meetings between the rival clubs in Division Three East Central this season, but this time it was the Ducks who came out on top. Hooker Corey Jones, number eight Mackenzie Williams, inside centre Danny Connolly and skipper Matthew Lewis scored the tries.
