Nearly two million residents of Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater have been issued a “life-threatning” flash flood warning as Hurricane Milton made landfall in Florida. Tampa’s National Weather Service warned that “flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses” is expected. “Between 6 and 12 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly,” the service noted.
