GGT and Weaver partner on EV graphite supply

Green Graphite Technologies (GGT) and Weaver Energy have finalised a supply agreement for graphite concentrate, marking a major step toward onshoring graphite production for North American EV batteries. GGT will use the material to produce battery-grade graphite using its GraphPure process, which boasts a 50% cost reduction and 82% fewer greenhouse gas emissions compared to hydrofluoric acid-based methods.
East Penn splits CEO and president roles

Europe launches largest flow battery project

Construction is underway on the world’s largest flow battery project at a key cross-border grid hub where Germany, France and Switzerland converge. The project aims to stabilise power flows across national lines, bolstering energy resilience and supporting long-duration renewable integration. Ace and Enecell partner on battery recycling deal

Ace Green Recycling has entered into a battery recycling deal with Perth-based lead battery recycler Enecell (The Owens Group WA) to expand sustainable battery recycling in Australia. The collaboration includes a 10-year master offtake deal under which Ace will purchase 100% of Enecell’s recycled lead material from its Perth facility. The agreement also covers future facility expansions, including lead refining, casting, alloying, and lithium battery processing.

Canadian Solar has successfully completed Large-Scale Fire Testing (LSFT) for its e-STORAGE SolBank 3.0 energy storage system, demonstrating strong fire containment capabilities for utility-scale projects. Conducted under the CSA C-800:25 §9.7 LSFT protocol, the test assessed the risk of fire propagation between adjacent enclosures in the event of a fully developed internal fire.

ACCC backs battery scheme with interim approval

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has granted interim authorisation to the Battery Stewardship Council (BSC), allowing continued operation of the Battery Stewardship Scheme with limited adjustments to levies and rebates. Established in 2018, the BSC aims to increase battery collection and recycling across Australia. Since 2020, the battery scheme has imposed a levy of four cents per equivalent battery unit on imports.
