SALT LAKE CITY — Some animal shelters in Utah are at full capacity and asking Utahns to come adopt or foster pets. Salt Lake County Animal Services recently posted on social media that their shelters are full, which can bring many challenges. Jami Johanson, the associate division director for Salt Lake County Animal Services, said they are currently finding solutions. “We're actually working on getting an overflow building right now,” Johanson said. "It's going to be a minimum of 16 kennels.

EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah — After a 12-year-old was saved from potentially drowning Friday night in Utah County, the local Red Cross is urging other Utahns to get trained in CPR. According to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, the boy was found unresponsive in a hot tub near Aster Drive in Eagle Mountain around 7:30 p.m. Officials said the child was in the hot tub for less than five minutes, and an off-duty nurse administered CPR until emergency services arrived.

SALT LAKE CITY — It’s a sad day for Billy Joel fans after it was announced he is canceling his tour after a recent diagnosis. “I didn’t know about the condition yet, that’s honestly horrible, horrible news I do wish him well,” Robert Ambriz who was visiting from California when he heard the news. “It saddens me much to hear of his diagnosis, and I wish him the best,” said Salt Lake resident Lizzy Munson.

ST. GEORGE, Utah — Two local business owners are joining forces to help eliminate growing school lunch debt in the Washington County School District through an upcoming fundraiser. Jolen Pace, owner of Zion Canyon Brew Hub, noticed parents within the district were receiving letters about unpaid school lunch debt. "We feel like we have a great platform, being that we have this venue, we can provide events and event space because there were a lot of people that seemed to want to help out," Pace said.
