She shares the space with longtime collaborator Ruben Millares; its exposed concrete floors and tall ceilings housing treasures upon treasures of art, both past and future. The multidisciplinary Miami artist works with everything from photography to sculptures to print to performance, and now, technology.

    The universe began with a bang. So it’s only fitting that Universal Orlando Resort’s latest extension, Epic Universe, begins the same way. On Thursday, May 22, the brand new theme park opens its doors to the general public for the first time. Eight years in the making, Epic Universe is the first major theme park in Orlando since Islands of Adventure opened in 1999. While it sits on 750 acres, the park itself spans approximately 110 acres.

    Along a small slice of NE 62 Street in Little River stand a few warehouse spaces that have not yet been replaced by bougie storefronts. Next to an auto repair shop is a nondescript stainless steel door. To the right of it is a sign, spray-painted on a slab of rock, reading, "Yo Space Yo Miami."Inside, there's a large manifesto framed on the wall. Although it's a remnant of an old Yo Miami art show, its words still resonate and hold true for the arts organization and its mission.
