    Prominent in the High Street of Rye is the lovely Ethel Loves Me, a shop full of unique, handmade and wonderful items created and made by local people. The owners, Jason and Jo Dorey, started their venture with their friend Matthew, and opened their first shop in 2017 in a small premises in East Street. They quickly found that position and space were important so looked for a bigger premises in 2018. They found the shop on the High Street, which is now brimming with items.

    Nature is beautiful, awe inspiring, and pretty amazing, but lifestyles these days mean many people are not getting to appreciate or access the great outdoors around Rye. Work, phones and busy lives or health all contribute to a lack of time spent in nature which is really sad because it has so much to offer our overall health and wellbeing. How often do you get outside?

    Sonja Colman helps people find a healthy relationship with food. A nutritional therapist and food coach based in Rye she now works out of the newly renovated Nook hair salon in the town centre. She believes mood plays a big part in what and how we eat, as she helps her clients take back control of their eating habits to find a healthy relationship with food.

    I think it’s safe to say taking a walk at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve is popular for many and a firm favourite of mine. Walking is a powerful tool to help with overall health and wellness especially in nature so walking at the reserve is simply perfect, it offers varying distance walks, the most popular being the 3km circular route where you can follow the path and will also find hides, offering the opportunity to watch and listen to the vast array of birds. It can get quite noisy at times.
