    1 With an annual incidence of 234,580 cases2 of lung cancer and declining mortality,3 the number of people living after a diagnosis of lung cancer has steadily increased and now exceeds 175,000 in the United States.2 The majority of people living with advanced lung cancer are diagnosed with advanced disease at the time of their initial diagnosis while about 30% were initially diagnosed with early-stage disease and had progression or metastatic recurrence.
