Making a cowboy emotional. During a red carpet interview with Billboard ahead of the ACM Awards a couple days ago, Jelly Roll crashed Cody Johnson’s conversation, and Cody told him he needed to stop telling people who he voted for to be Entertainer of the Year because people kept asking him about it. Cody was in the category with Jelly Roll, in addition to Morgan Wallen, Kelsea Ballerini, Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton and Lainey Wilson, who ultimately won the coveted award.

Keith Whitley and Lorrie Morgan were a country music power couple in the late ’80s. The two were married in 1986, until Keith’s tragic passing in 1989 from alcohol poisoning at the young age of 33, which sadly occurred on this date 36 years ago, March 9th.

Goin’ home empty…Last night, Lainey Wilson once again took home the coveted ACM Award for Entertainer of the Year, which was a pretty touch category, as she was up against Kelsea Ballerini, Luke Combs, Cody Johnson, Jelly Roll, Chris Stapleton and Morgan Wallen. Many fans were upset that she won it for the second consecutive year, and you really could make the argument for almost any of the nominated artists and why they deserve to win.

Tipping their cowboy hats to the one and only Willie Nelson… well, Possum and the Hag too. This week, Ernest and Jake Worthington released a cover of the red headed stranger’s classic “Yesterday’s Wine,” which is the title track of the 1971 Willie Nelson album Yesterday’s Wine. The song was written by Nelson, and it later became a number 1 duet for George Jones and Merle Haggard in 1982.

The most personal song from  I’m The Problem. Today, Morgan Wallen released the final single from his forthcoming 37-song album, which is due out everywhere next Friday, May 16th. “Superman” is very special to Morgan, which he previously talked about on an episode of Theo Von’s This Past Weekend podcast, explaining that it’s one he’s “tried to write many times,” but never could find the right words until now:“I’ve tried so many times to write a song like that for him, and it always fell flat.
