Fire crews in Homosassa had a busy day Wednesday, responding to three separate blazes that left one woman injured, a family displaced and several pets lost. A morning fire at a double-wide mobile home on West Cardinal Street injured a woman and resulted in the loss of her bird and the disappearance of three cats, according to officials.

Since the advent of communications applications for schools, the county’s school system has largely been sending out notifications in a “piecemeal” fashion, officials say. There’s the district website, social media, a ton of apps like Remind and ClassDogo.

An arrest has been made in the death of a Crystal River man. The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office issued a press statement Sunday afternoon that deputies arrested 43-year-old David P Nemyier in connection with what they said was the "tragic death" of 67-year-old Kyle Pazian. Nemyier was Pazain's son-in-law, according to the agency and he is being charged with first degree murder.
