Rare 16th Century wall paintings have been revealed at a former Tudor hunting lodge. The Grotesque-style images were found behind failing plasterwork at The Ashes, in Inglewood Forest, near Ivegill, CumbriaThey feature fantastical beasts and foliage arranged in decorative panels, thought to be an imitation textile design. In addition, scientific dating has confirmed that some of the earliest timbers in the building date from the early years of the reign of Elizabeth I.

Taxing the rich is hardly a new idea, though it hasn’t been in vogue since Dwight D. Eisenhower was president. Now is the time to bring it back. Taxing the rich solves so many problems. It does no harm to anyone, not even the rich. They will still be rich or close to rich. Taxing the rich alleviates so much preventable pain and suffering for the non-rich. If we tax the rich, all the arbitrary, ill-considered cuts, causing so much pain to so many valued and needed programs, can stop.
