    A loud siren heard across Belfast on Saturday morning was triggered by a small electrical fire in the Harbour Estate. The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) confirmed that four fire engines attended an incident on Airport Road West. It was reported at 08:48 GMT and resolved by 10:20 GMT. The noise caused confusion among residents, with some on social media comparing it to an air raid siren.

    Vinci and Sir Robert McAlpine are set to go ahead with the £105m build of a new National Rehabilitation Centre at Nottingham University Hospital. The 70-bed facility has had funding approved by the government as part of the national New Hospital Programme. The facility will combine patient care with research and training space for NHS staff.

    Halsion grew its turnover and saw its pre-tax profit more than double in its latest set of financial results, although this was partly due to an extended reporting period covering the 18 months ending 30 September 2022. The mechanical and electrical (M&E) specialist reported a £7.3m pre-tax profit in its latest results, compared with £3.5m in previous accounts for the 12 months ending 31 March 2021. Turnover also grew, rising from £42.7m to £72.8m.

    Mace is set to work on a facility near Oxford that will house the world's most powerful laser. Under a pre-construction services agreement (PCSA) with the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), Mace will lead a team to extend and partially refurbish the Central Laser Facility (CLF) in the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, which is located on the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus. Mace will carry out design, buildability, construction, programme and planning services.
