Both countries became declared nuclear states in 1998, driven by decades-long competition and nationalistic zeal. In 1999 they fought a limited war in Kargil, one of only two conventional wars conducted by nuclear-armed states.

Right, so now Canada is a fascist country. How dare they give free, compulsory language lessons to immigrants. Fascism involves banning languages or foisting yours outside your territory or excluding other language services, not seeking to integrate incomers at the state's cost.

Labour’s plan to raise migrant language requirements reflects a fascist logic. Language has long been central to fascist projects of national purity used to racialise, exclude and dominate. This isn’t about integration, it’s about coercive assimilation through exclusion.
