The corporation has confirmed that Gaza: Doctors Under Attack will not air on the BBC. The BBC will not go ahead with broadcasting a documentary about the plight of medics in Gaza as it may create “a perception of partiality that would not meet the high standards that the public rightly expect”. The corporation commissioned Gaza: Doctors Under Attack more than a year ago from an independent production company called Basement Films.

The news programme’s editor Richard Frediani accepted a Bafta just last month. The editor of BBC Breakfast is taking an extended period of leave after allegations about his behaviour, according to BBC News. Richard Frediani has been in charge of the morning show since 2019 and accepted a Bafta last month when BBC Breakfast: The Post Office Special scooped the news coverage award. Media outlets reported that an internal investigation is being carried out following allegations of bullying.
