His father wanted him to be a lawyer, but Francis knew God was calling him to be a priest and serve others. He was ordained in 1593. He is the patron saint of writers because he wrote many letters and books about having faith in God. Trust in GodHe was a kind and caring person who shared God’s love with others. Frances de Sales taught people to trust in God.

CONNIE CLARK Wouldn’t it be great if Christmas lasted longer than one day? Actually, the Christmas season lasts from December 25 all the way until the feast of Jesus’ baptism in early January. But many Christians do some of their biggest Christmas celebrating and merrymaking on the Feast of the Epiphany. That’s when we remember the visit of the Magi [MAIGE-eye], or wise men, to baby Jesus. Why is this feast important? Think of it this way. When you were born, people probably came to visit.

CONNIE CLARKNo matter how meticulously we plan, some classroom waiting is inevitable. Students wait while we take attendance. They wait while we work with small groups. They wait in line, and they wait for others to settle down. In a few minutes of waiting for their turn, fidgety students with nothing to do can find plenty of things we’d rather they didn’t. Students, as well as teachers, experience some form of waiting every day.
