James Madison attacker Maddie Epke is heading to the transfer portal, according to reports from Inside Women’s Lacrosse and WHSV-TV in Harrisonburg. The Tewaraaton Nominee helped lead the Dukes to their first American Athletic Conference Tournament title during her junior season this spring. During three seasons with the Dukes, Epke became the program leader in draw controls, recording 485. She also set the single-season record for draw controls with 235, which was set this spring.

James Madison closed out this past season season, its 10th under head coach Marlin Ikenberry, with a series win over Sun Belt Conference opponent Texas State. While the Bobcats understood their season would extend past the second week of May, the Dukes knew that they didn’t have the same luck or destination.
