The first day of the 2025 NFL Draft is complete. The Denver Broncos surprised many when they selected Texas cornerback Jahdae Barron with the No. 20 overall pick. Running back and Defensive Tackle should be the positions the Broncos are looking at on Friday, but this team will also be looking for the best players available regardless of position. Could they surprise again like they did on Thursday? Here are four of the best players the Broncos should be considering on Day 2 of the NFL Draft.

The 2025 NFL Draft is finally here! It’s my favorite time of year, and the draft is basically three days of Christmas in April for me. I look forward to this every year, and each year I do one mock draft. In this mock draft, there are no trades. Currently, no team has traded away their first-round pick, which is unusual to say the least. I believe there could be at least four trades on Thursday, and all it takes is one team to open the floodgates in what I call a “go-get-your-guy” draft.

What kind of draft is the one of which dreams are made? Well, my dream involves trading up for Ashton Jeanty, but failing that, it still sees the Broncos getting a three-down running back in Round 1. ROUND 1, NO. 20 OVERALL: RB Omarion Hampton, North CarolinaThere are a small handful of backs in this class who can be full-time starters in the NFL. Yes, this is a great class, but many players are likely best used as part of a committee. I’d like the Broncos to get a stud/lead running back.

INDIANAPOLIS — Javonte Williams might not be done as a Denver Broncos running back. But even though general manager George Paton kept the door ajar for the 2021 second-round pick to return to the team, Paton also noted the unusual depth and quality of this year’s running-back draft class.

INDIANAPOLIS — Just because George Paton, Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos aren’t looking for a quarterback doesn’t mean they won’t be scouring the Pro Day and individual-workout circuit with the same attention to detail that they displayed last year in their cross-country search for the answer to the team’s perennial quarterback woes. It’s just that now the target will be elsewhere. “I think you’ll see the same,” Paton explained Tuesday.
