July 20, 2023 — The members of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) recently elected three new officers to ASTRO’s Board of Directors, including Sameer Keole, MD, FASTRO, as President-elect; Wendy Woodward, MD, PhD, FASTRO, as Science Council Vice Chair; and Vivek S. Kavadi, MD, MBA, FASTRO, as Health Policy Council Vice Chair. The officers will begin their terms in October during ASTRO’s 65th Annual Meeting in San Diego.

July 19, 2023 — The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Research and Education (R&E) Foundation Board of Trustees has approved over $4.7 million in radiology research and education funding this year, achieving a funding rate of 36% of grant applications. Since its inception in 1984, the RSNA R&E Foundation has awarded over $78 million in grant funding.

July 19, 2023 — The American College of Radiology (ACR) released the following statement to correct misinterpreted cuts by some in response to the 2024 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule proposed rule released July 13. The statement may be attributed to Cindy Moran, executive vice president, ACR Government Relations/Economics. “Some radiology organizations erroneously estimated a 10% provider reimbursement cut in the 2024 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule proposed rule released by CMS.
