From 1910 to 2001, the Liberty Crest Apartments were known as the Lorton Reformatory, a prison in Lorton, Virginia that housed inmates from Washington, D.C. It is more widely known as the site where many suffragists were held after the Silent Sentinels pickets at the White House in 1917. And according to the Library of Congress, November 14, 1917 is known as the "Night of Terror" because of how the suffragist prisoners were mistreated at the prison.

A new report from Redfin reveals the most in-demand neighborhoods across the United States. Redfin ranked U.S. ZIP codes in the 150 most populous metro areas using year-over-year growth in listing views on Redfin.com and a Redfin Compete Score — a measure of how hard it is to win a home in a specific area. The area is then rated on a scale of 0 to 100, where 100 is the most competitive. Five of the hottest neighborhoods of 2025 are Midwest suburbs.
