An ABC NEWS survey of more than 800 GPs combined with exclusive data from the Royal College of General Practitioners (RACGP) has cast doubt on whether the signature health policy of this election campaign can be fully delivered. Alex Neville doesn't know how long she'll live. The mother of four has endured surgery, 27 rounds of radiation, 13 chemotherapy cycles, immunotherapy and is now on a clinical trial. In 2020, the 56-year-old was diagnosed with endometrial adenocarcinoma, a gynaecological cancer. When Ms Neville first raised a change in her periods with her doctor, she was told it was to be expected for a woman her age.

A major overhaul of the National Disability Insurance Scheme could be on the cards, with a long list of recommendations finally made public today. The review calls for more support for children with developmental delays and changes to how a person is judged to be eligible for the NDIS.

The long-awaited review into the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) has been made public, making 26 recommendations and 139 "supporting actions". The 329-page report recommends sweeping changes to the scheme over the next five years. The report calls on the government to prioritise two recommendations, building a skilled workforce to deliver quality services and investment in "foundational supports" designed to assist people with disability outside of the NDIS.
