All consecutive patients referred to our cardiopulmonary laboratory with post-COVID-19 symptoms were evaluated but only subjects with COVID 19 related pneumonia were analyzed. Patients with severe diseases before COVID-19 infection were excluded from the study as were excluded patients with any disease which could per se influence exercise performance including heart failure, COPD, severe systemic hypertension, arrhythmias, cardiac ischemia, valvular hear disease or pulmonary hypertension.

The study included 34 patients with both T2DM and CHD (group DC), 31 patients with T2DM without CHD (group DN) and 30 patients without diabetes but with a diagnosis of CHD (group NC), attending U.O.C. of Diabetology and Dietetics of Ulss 6 Euganea, Padova (Italy). Patients affected by diabetes followed an isocaloric Mediterranean-style diet and received individualized hypoglycemic therapy.

of paroxysmal AF at one year changes between 70 and 85 percent. This rate is considered
suboptimal. Currently there are no data that can assess which factors are predictive of
recurrence both clinically and electrophysiologically.
