Phoenix police continue to investigate a Christmas Eve shooting that left three people dead, including the alleged gunman, David De Nitto. He was the widower of former Maricopa County Attorney Allister Adel. Police say De Nitto killed his girlfriend, Maryalice Cash, and her mother, Cynthia Domini, before turning the gun on himself. Phoenix police Sergeant Philip Krynsky says an argument preceded the shooting.

Every day 130 million gallons of wastewater is sent from Valley city's sewer systems to the Phoenix wastewater treatment plant. Phoenix is activating a treatment plant where recycled sewage will be converted not only to graywater for irrigation, but also to drinking water. The pilot project is the latest attempt to stretch resources in the face of historic drought.

Arizona Congressman Andy Biggs was one of the eight hard-line Republicans who broke from the party to oust House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. But with no clear successor and the GOP facing its own ideological divide, Biggs says the party needs to take its negotiations behind closed doors. Speaking to conservative channel Real America's Voice, he said Republicans need to avoid the spectacle created in January, when it took 15 rounds to finally elect McCarthy.

A water tank at a Rio Verde Foothills homeRio Verde Foothills residents have been in search of water service ever since neighboring Scottsdale turned off the taps at the start of the year. Water will resume flowing to the unincorporated community Monday morning. In June, state leaders passed an emergency measure to ensure a short-term supply and create a local agency - the Rio Verde Foothills Standpipe District - to represent the community's interests.
