Iran has fired a new wave of missile strikes at Israel, with explosions heard in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem this morning. Air raid sirens sounded across the cities about 7am local time (4am GMT), as the Israeli military detected incoming missiles from Iran. "A short while ago, sirens sounded in several areas across Israel following the identification of missiles launched from Iran toward the State of Israel," the military said in a post on Telegram.

Iran launched a fresh wave of strikes on Israel as it vowed to bombard the country “without interruption until dawn”. Air raid sirens boomed across central and southern Israel, including Tel Aviv, early on Tuesday as the country came under attack. Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said air forces were “operating to intercept and strike where necessary to eliminate the threat” and urged residents to seek shelter.
