DEERFIELD BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - Two people were hospitalized after they were attacked by multiple dogs in a Deerfield Beach neighborhood. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call reporting an animal bite near the 400 block of Southwest 13th Place, just before 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Deputies said one juvenile and one adult were transported to area hospitals with dog bites. Neighbors told 7News that the juvenile victim was an 11-year-old boy.

SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) — Sam Reinhart and Anton Lundell scored in the shootout, and the Florida Panthers beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-2 on Friday night. Matthew Tkachuk got a power-play goal midway through the third period for Florida, which also got a goal from Gustav Forsling. Spencer Knight stopped 29 shots for Florida, then stopped Rickard Rakell and Sidney Crosby in the shootout. Lundell’s score won it for the Panthers.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) - A long-standing Fort Lauderdale condominium building is going up for sale. The owners of the Springbrook Gardens condo said they will be selling the 18-unit building. They said they couldn’t afford the millions of dollars it would take to make repairs. Back in September, residents of the condo, located at 125 North Birch Road, were told to evacuate before Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida.

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — A large portion of downtown Omaha lost power for several hours Thursday after a garbage truck got stuck in a sinkhole where utility lines had become exposed. The truck became stuck around 8 a.m. with its nose tilted down into the sinkhole and its rear wheels lifting several inches off the ground. The sinkhole is more than 10 feet (3 meters) deep and a number of utility lines were exposed when the hole formed at an alley entrance, firefighters said.

(CNN) — A major winter storm will deliver heavy snow, hazardous ice, rain and severe thunderstorms to more than 1,300 miles of the United States over the weekend and into next week. Snow and ice so far this winter in the eastern two-thirds of the country have been limited to northern states. But this storm will break that mold and bring treacherous conditions to millions from the Plains to the East Coast, including in areas less prone to winter weather.

(WSVN) - A heartbroken father is speaking out for the first time about the night he lost his 10-year-old daughter to a stray bullet while ringing in 2025 in Northwest Miami-Dade. New Year’s Eve is a time for celebration and hope for families. Unfortunately, for the Munguia family, their celebration became a nightmare. Carlos Munguia spoke to 7News in Spanish, Thursday, as he struggled to get the words out, holding a handmade Father’s Day card penned by his little girl.

SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) - It’s a very special new year for a South Florida woman who turned 100 years young. Manuela Herrera spent the first day of 2025 celebrating the milestone. She was joined by her three children, six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren at her Southwest Miami-Dade home on Wednesday. “Today’s just been so special to have all her kids and grandkids and great-grandkids present to celebrate her,” said her daughter Doris Herrera.
