The “largest ever human Pride flag” has been created by thousands of LGBTQ+ activists in Mexico — and the result is stunning. On Sunday (22 June), in celebration of Pride, more than 5000 LGBTQ+ activists and allies gathered in Mexico City’s Zócalo Public Square to form what is believed to be the “world’s largest human LGBTQ+ flag”. As rain showered down, participants held up colourful umbrellas in their matching coloured t-shirts to create the Pride flag formation.

The 55-year-old Olympic gold medallist , who came out publicly as a lesbian in June 2022, and two years later joked that she was “living her youth” after coming out, reflected on her personal journey on the BBC’s LGBT Sport Podcast. Pride in London 2025 has a colourful line-up, with highlights including Eurovision’s Miriana Conte, R&B sensation Amaria BB, and a headline performance from American music legend Chaka Khan. Taking place on Saturday 5 July, the Pride in London parade will run from Hyde Park Corner through Piccadilly Circus, down Haymarket and along Cockspur Street to Trafalgar Square, culminating at Whitehall Place. The parade will start at midday and finish at 6pm.
