In the first week of the federal election campaign, Peter Dutton flagged a crackdown on "woke" culture in schools. "I think there is a silent majority on this issue right across the community," . Accent Research principal Shaun Ratcliff said he thought Dutton's culture war comments "hurt them everywhere". In addition to Dutton's comments about a "woke" agenda in schools and universities, the ousted Opposition leader also announced his intention to reduce immigration and sack 41,000 public servants.

There have been mixed results for the Greens on election night, including the loss of one of its Brisbane seats. Redbridge Group director Simon Welsh is predicting the Greens will lose the seat of Griffith to Labor. It is currently held by Greens' housing and homelessness spokesperson Max Chandler-Mather. The seat of Melbourne, held by Greens leader Adam Bandt is also at risk.
