An outbreak of bird flu has been confirmed at a commercial farm near Beverley in East Yorkshire. The government's Animal and Plant Health Agency said on Tuesday that due to the presence of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) strain H5N1, all poultry on the premises would now be humanely culled. A 3km (nearly two miles) protection zone cordon and a 10km (about six miles) surveillance zone cordon have been put in place around the premises.

Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Lincoln are appealing for help piecing together the victim's final movements. Lincolnshire Police were called to Carholme Road just after 23:00 GMT on Sunday after a man suffered serious head injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are asking residents in the West End area of the city to check CCTV, doorbell or mobile phone footage to see whether it captured the victim walking or interacting with someone.

An 11-year-old boy has taken his appeal to help wildlife cross roads safely to the very top - gaining a response from the prime minister. Brody, who lives in Healing in North East Lincolnshire, started campaigning for better signage after two deer were killed on a road earlier this year. He wrote to Sir Keir Starmer asking for more wildlife warning signs on England's roads, and has also appealed to the King for help.

A man has died after a car crashed into a tree. Humberside Police said the incident happened at 05:50 GMT and a 44 year old died at the scene. It is reported that a grey Renault Clio was travelling eastbound on the A1077, Ulceby Road, when it is believed to have hit a tree on Wootton Road. The force said due to previous police contact, a mandatory referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct but confirmed it was not in relation to a pursuit.

A passenger has been left with life-threatening injuries after an Audi crashed into a car dealership. The incident happened at 22:00 GMT on Thursday, off Mannaberg Way in Scunthorpe, with the car smashing through the windows of Drayton Motors. Humberside Police have arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving without a licence, driving with no insurance, failing to stop at the scene of a collision and driving while under the influence of drugs.
