    SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — After dropping the first game of the day Friday against host West Texas A&M, the No. 8 Angelo State University softball team bounced back with a 1-0 win against Colorado Mesa to stay alive at the D-II South Central Regional in Canyon. The Belles lost 2-1 against WT. Averie Gunther drove in the Belles’ only run on an RBI single in the top of the first. Cheyenne Floyd took the loss in the circle. Emilee Boyer got the win for the Lady Buffs.

    SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Wall High School boys golf team ended a 12-year state title drought by winning the UIL Class 3A championship Tuesday at Jimmy Clay Golf Course in Austin. The Hawks shot 305-304–609 to win by 24 strokes. The individual scores for the Hawks were: Maxell Wymore (75-74–149); Hayden Barnes (78-73–151); Stratten Abel (76-77–153); Kasen Mull (76-80–156); and Cannon Willard (82-87–169).

    SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Miles High School baseball team will open a best-of-three games Class 2A area playoff series starting at 1 p.m. Friday at McMurry University in Abilene. Game 2 will follow at approximately 3 p.m. If necessary, a third game will be 2 p.m. Saturday. AdvertisementThe Bulldogs are 8-12 and they finished second in District 6-2A with a 5-3 mark.

    SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Christoval High School baseball team will put its season on the line in a best-of-three games Class 2A area playoff series against Hawley that starts at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Brownwood. Game 2 is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, followed by a third game, if necessary, 30 minutes later. AdvertisementChristoval is 16-8. The Cougars started the season at 2-7, but they caught fire after that, winning 14 of their last 15 games. They went 8-0 in District 6-2A.
