Analysis of the stepped-wedge trialFig 2 depicts the stepped-wedge research design. Clinics are randomized to onset of intervention in one of six time periods over the three years of the intervention rollout (years 2–4 of the project) and tracked using administrative data. Data for all OTP clients during each of the seven six-month periods (n≈350/clinic) will be drawn from administrative data. The first six-month period will be a baseline prior to any intervention.

Study designThis study is a hybrid type 3 trial using a stepped-wedge cluster RCT design [30], with the primary goal of studying building-level implementation of overdose prevention practices in PSH and a secondary goal of examining effectiveness on clinically relevant tenant outcomes.
