Continental has developed a new sensor technology that measures the temperature inside permanently excited synchronous motors in EVs directly on the rotor. The company says its e-Motor Rotor Temperature Sensor (eRTS) delivers significantly more precise measurement results than the current software-based temperature simulation. This should enable vehicle manufacturers to reduce the amount of rare earth elements used to increase the magnets’ heat resistance.

The EV Series Pro Dual Port chargers are designed for fleet, MDU (Multi-Dwelling Unit), commercial and public use applications. The charger’s dual-port configuration is designed to offer maximum flexibility for charging one or multiple vehicles simultaneously. Each port can deliver up to 48 amps.

PACCAR Parts, a provider of aftermarket parts for all makes of trucks, engines, trailers and buses, has added Eaton DC fast chargers to its EV charger lineup. The Eaton chargers can be purchased from Kenworth and Peterbilt dealers, as well as TRP stores. They are available now in the US and Canada. Available power levels range from 50 to 150 kW. The units feature a compact footprint, as well as comprehensive management software.

SparkCharge, the creator of a mobile off-grid EV charger, has closed a $15.5-million Series A-1 funding round led by Monte’s Fam and a $15-million venture loan facility provided by Horizon Technology Finance. SparkCharge will use the funding to expand its mobile EV charging services throughout the US, Mexico and Canada.
