The crowd at Santa Rosa's Wednesday Night Market will be dancing like it's the 1980s this week as British new wave band A Flock of Seagulls descends on Old Courthouse Square for a free concert. The hitmakers behind synth-pop classics "I Ran (So Far Away)" and "Space Age Love Song" among others will take the stage at the weekly market at 7 p.m. Local youth musicians from School of Rock Santa Rosa will open for the band at 5:30 p.m. A limited number of VIP tickets will be available for $30.

A winning Scratcher ticket sold earlier this year at a Santa Rosa liquor store made one lucky player $1.2 million richer, according to the California Lottery. It's the fourth California Lottery ticket worth $1 million or more purchased in the county this year. The ticket, a $2 Set for Life Scratchers game, was sold at MD Liquor & Food at 500 Mission Blvd in March, California Lottery spokesperson Daniel Kelly said in a Thursday email.
