In the 2015 hype track “Jumpman,” Atlanta rapper Future follows up a chorus by his collaborator Drake with a rhythmic: “Nobu, Nobu, Nobu, Nobu, Nobu, Nobu / I just throwed a private dinner in LA.” Future is, of course, referencing the high-end Japanese restaurant from chef Nobu Matsuhisa that opened in 1994.

Perhaps it’s homemade, or it could be from the number of brands selling premixed batter in South Asian markets across the country. It’s a kitchen staple like anything else, unremarkable except to those for whom the dosa remains unfamiliar. Which, in America, is a lot of people.

Lenox, the tableware company, announced today via Instagram that it’s set to finally bring back its coveted Spice Village collection. The set of 24 porcelain jars is meant to hold spices, with each designed to look like a miniature house. In the original collection, that meant a townhouse for ginger and a Swiss chalet for pepper; it’s not clear yet if or how the new edition will differ from the original.
