    22-year-old Ruairi Overy-Hennesy, a self-proclaimed animal lover, has always known what he wanted to do with his life. From studying animal management in college to pursuing a degree in Ecology and Wildlife Conservation, Ruairi’s path has always led him back to the untamed beauty of thick jungles and flowing rivers. There has never been any doubt about his career choice and on the 18th of June 2023, he decided to follow this calling by embarking on the adventure of a lifetime.

    A Bournemouth man has been battling a terminal disease after a sandfly bite during a trip to South America. Ruairi Overy-Hennesy, 22, began a five-week journey volunteering in Manu National Park in Peru in June 2023. In the weeks shortly after his return, he began to experience unusual symptoms, the most alarming was a small hole that opened at the top of his left hand. He sought medical attention in October 2023 and was quickly referred to Poole, Salisbury, and Southampton General Hospital.

    Inflation has taken a surprise fall to 2.5% in the UK, which may ease the pressure on Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves. This comes after Chancellor Reeves refused to rule out the possibility of an emergency budget. Despite this fall, the consumer price index figure is still above the Bank of England’s 2% Target, meaning a higher cost for borrowers.

    Some residents of Poole shared with Buzz News that they are concerned that dog walkers who do not keep their dogs on leads will disturb the ‘rare’ bunting. It has been almost two weeks since the Snow Bunting first visited Hamworthy. The small white and brown bird usually resides around Scotland, the Northwest, and the East Coast of England. Its visit this far south is unusual and has sparked concerns about its well-being in a busy area.
