Step 4: Use vermicomposting to transform an organization’s 0.3-acre plot from “dead, no life, not a single worm in the entire place” to a thriving farm with increased production and stellar water retention.

The Claremont Colleges women’s club volleyball team took a trip to Phoenix, Arizona, and came back to Claremont with gold. On April 17-19, the Panthers attended the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation (NCFV) tournament and defeated American University in the final round to take first place in the Women’s Division 2AA National Championships. Club volleyball practices span the entire school year, with preseason tournaments starting in the fall and regular season beginning in the spring.

Two weeks ago, one of the biggest sporting events in the country kicked off. I’m not a huge college basketball fan, but I tune in for the men’s and women’s NCAA March Madness tournaments every year and get extremely invested in my poorly researched brackets. This year, however, I missed out on the 63 women’s games because I don’t have ESPN2. Four different networks are streaming the men’s tournament this year: TruTV, CBS, TNT and TBS.

In honor of Valentine’s Day, we decided to take a look into events that are all about new relationships: varsity mixers. At the Claremont Colleges, varsity sports teams are the closest thing we have to Greek life. Houses throw parties and teams host mixers with one another that resemble formals between sororities and fraternities. As NARPs (non-athletic regular people), we wanted to know what happens at these mixers as they’re usually closed to anyone not on the two teams present.
