The Indiana Fever will play in what is likely the first nationally televised WNBA exhibition game in May, a source familiar with the situation confirmed to IndyStar. ESPN picked up the Fever's exhibition against Brazil women's national team on May 4, The Athletic first reported. The game tips at 6 p.m. ET and will air on ESPN unless there is a Game 7 in the NBA playoffs, which would cause the Fever game to be shifted to ESPN2.

SHELBYVILLE – Cool wind sliced the track at the Shelbyville Invitational on April 1, bringing the temperature of 53 degrees to a feels-like of 45. The weather somewhat tempered the excitement of the first home meet, as Shelbyville runners tried to stay warm in blankets wrapped over black and gray warm-ups. But the mood seemed to lighten as the hours wore on and the sun slipped through the clouds.

UIndy pitcher and Lawrence Central alum Dawson Gabe was diagnosed with cancer in the fall. Gabe was determined to finish his career with a complete game, and he did on March 15, three days before surgery.
