Through 59 games, the Braves are 27-32, good for the fourth-worst record in the National League. For the first time in years, it doesn’t appear as if there is a clear answer as to whether the Braves will buy or sell. Most clubs in Atlanta’s position would almost assuredly be preparing to sell, but this is a Braves club that came into the season with legitimate championship aspirations.

When you start the season 27-32 and trail not one but two divisional foes by 10 games, you lose a lot of the luxuries you should be afforded at this point of the season. One of them being easing a rookie into the swing of things the right way. To this point, the Braves have decided to split time between their All-Star caliber catchers, and both have played like top five backstops in the game.

In his first start back, he really struggled against the Washington Nationals, but he bounced back with a brilliant performance in Philadelphia.

Buyers or Sellers: For the first time in a while, there might not be an easy answer for the Braves ahead of the trade deadline. Sitting at 27-31 through 58 games, Atlanta has the fourth-worst record in the National League, ahead of only the Pirates, Marlins, and Rockies. That’s not a list of teams you want to be associated with, especially when the Braves came into the season with legitimate championship aspirations.
