Students had didactic courses that accompanied their international experience to enhance their knowledge and understanding of global health principles. Students successfully completed these accompanying nursing courses and had life changing opportunities working with the leprosy-afflicted in India.

The data consisted of eight in-depth interviews with Hmong women who had given birth within the last eighteen months. The focus of the interviews was on their experience giving birth and what that experience meant to them.
